Role OverviewThe Community Recreation Assistant will assist with recreational activities that promote enjoyment, personal growth, and community participation. The role involves helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities take part in social events, community outings, seasonal celebrations, and recreational programs throughout Ocean County.
What You Will Do
Assist with recreational activities, promote positive social interactions, and encourage confidence and independence among participants. Maintain a welcoming, organized, and safe environment, and communicate participant needs with the recreation team.

Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid New Jersey driver's license in good standing with no more than five (5) motor vehicle points.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities preferred.
- Demonstrated employment stability, including at least one (1) year with a previous employer preferred.
