Role Overview

The Compliance Analyst protects funding by reviewing program files, certifying client data, and checking that documentation behind each grant proves what was billed and reported. This is a programmatic compliance role that works close to the programs, reads each funder's rules, and confirms that intake, eligibility, and service records hold up to an audit. The role also carries basic financial acumen.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include reading and applying each funder's eligibility rules and documentation standards, reviewing client and program files to confirm eligibility is proven and services are documented, checking that files support what the organization billed and reported, flagging gaps to program staff and tracking them to correction before report deadlines, and supporting the AB109-to-CFET claiming reconciliation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, human services, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (4 years of relevant, progressive work)
  • Three years in grants compliance, program compliance, or grants monitoring in a nonprofit or government setting
  • Working knowledge of federal grant compliance and the Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200)
  • Experience reviewing eligibility and documentation files for audit readiness
  • Basic understanding of grant budgets and reimbursement documentation
  • Experience keeping accurate, timely records in a case management or data system such as CaseWorthy or HMIS
  • Strong spreadsheet skills, including reporting, using intermediate to advanced Excel or Google Sheets
