Role Overview

The Compliance Specialist supports all compliance and regulatory functions for the Food Safety and Compliance group, developing and maintaining reporting systems for third-party audits, quality management systems, and supplier compliance. This role manages documentation for company certifications and reports to the Sr. FSQA Manager.

What You Will Do

Assist in developing and implementing quality management systems, manage certification programs and audits, work cross-functionally to manage third-party audit systems, and manage supplier compliance. Additionally, help manage customer complaints and CAPA programs, monitor and maintain pre-requisite programs and training, and maintain raw material specifications and supplier compliance documentation.

Why It Might Be a Fit

Experience in quality assurance or product development, and with food safety programs in a food-manufacturing environment, is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Food Safety, HACCP, and other technical aspects of food manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in food science, Biology, Engineering, Chemistry, or other relevant degree
  • Experience in quality assurance or product development, and with food safety programs in a food-manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Food Safety, HACCP and other technical aspects of food manufacturing
  • Experience and knowledge with computer-based quality management and tracking systems, including Microsoft Office and Office-based database systems
  • Ability to write/audit SOPs to ensure compliance with food safety requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the organization
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and in teams in a variety of fast-moving situations and markets
