Job Description
UT Southwestern is seeking a Computational Biologist I to support scientific research using technical knowledge of software, software development, networking, and/or hardware in a complex computing environment. The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, data science, computer science, or a related quantitative field, and a strong background at the interface of molecular biology, computation, and clinical research.

Requirements

  • Hold a graduate degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, data science, computer science or a related quantitative field
  • Have strong research design and analytical skills, and a passion for translational medical research
  • Be intellectually curious and motivated to go beyond routine analyses by helping generate new ideas
  • Have knowledge of clinical research principles, with strong research design skills, analytical skills, and database statistical skills
  • Have experience and knowledge of computational principles. Proficiency with Python and/or R is strongly preferred
