Role OverviewThe Computer Scientist - openMCT will direct software and systems engineering services, within a working group. You will identify potential risks, provide technical guidance, foster collaboration to achieve development goals, maintain thorough documentation, and ensure system stability to meet schedule test goals.
What You Will Do
Expert proficiency in Java and enterprise frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot) for modular software design. Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+)/TypeScript, and modern web development practices. Ability to work with time-series/telemetry data and build complex data visualizations.

Ability to write clear technical documentation, provide technical mentorship, and communicate effectively in a team environment. Knowledge of aerospace/mission control telemetry concepts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline and a minimum of 4 years of related experience
- Master's degree in an associated discipline and a minimum of 2 years of experience
- PhD in an associated discipline
- Experience with computer-based systems and applications
- Programming skills in languages used for job-specific programming tasks
- Familiarity with the application of industry standard hardware and software design and documentation techniques
- Experience with systems engineering and software development lifecycles
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Good planning/organizational skills
- Valid, state issued driver's license
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance
