Job Description
The Configuration Management Technician is responsible for ensuring that mainframe migrations are implemented in the appropriate environments and in accordance with agency procedures. The primary systems supported are PMS and PPMS, the City's payroll and pension payroll applications.

Requirements

  • Ensure Application teams have thoroughly documented migration requests in ClearQuest to maintain audit compliance and process integrity
  • Deploy mainframe software (IMS PSB/MFS, DB2, JCL, and COBOL programs) to various testing environments
  • Perform post-production migrations to backfill test environments with the latest versions of code and related objects
  • Coordinate complex migrations with Applications, Testing, and DBA teams
  • Provide Technical Support team with all required migration components and detailed execution instructions, including GDGs and scheduling changes
  • Assist Systems teams with tool upgrades and granting Rational access to FISA staff
  • Participate in supporting Disaster Recovery tasks and documenting any issues that arise
  • Provide secondary application support while maintaining primary responsibility for configuration management and mainframe migrations
  • Assist with production support activities by coordinating with application, operations, and technical support teams
  • Support batch processing and file transfer workflows related to payroll and PeopleSoft-based systems as needed
