Job Description
Akerman is seeking a full-time Conflicts Manager to manage and oversee the Conflicts Department, leading a team of 10 or more employees and partners with firm leadership to ensure timely and compliant conflict clearance.

Requirements

  • Supervise and manage a team of 10 or more Conflicts and Administrative Team employees
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, performance management, and professional development of the Conflicts and Administrative team employees
  • Ensure consistent, ongoing training and quality assurance across all team members
  • Foster a collaborative, high‐performing, service‐oriented team culture
  • Conflicts Review & Advisory
  • Oversee analysis of all new business requests to identify and resolve potential conflicts of interest
  • Ensure conflicts determinations comply with firm policies, ethical rules, and professional responsibility standards
  • Review conflicts reports for accuracy, consistency, and completeness
  • Serve as a key point of contact for partners, associates, legal assistants, firm management, and General Counsel
  • Systems, Data & Process Management
  • Manage and maintain the firm’s conflicts and intake databases and related third‐party platforms
  • Partner with IT and vendors to stay current on software enhancements and best practices
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and workflow efficiency
  • Ensure accurate, consistent reporting of conflicts data to finance, records, IT, and other departments
  • Reporting, Audits & Projects
  • Conduct regular audits of the conflicts database and related procedures
  • Maintain accurate records to support internal and external audits
  • Prepare and deliver monthly reports and metrics for firm management
  • Lead and support large‐scale, complex projects requiring extensive data review and cross‐functional coordination
  • Manage competing priorities and respond effectively to urgent or time‐sensitive matters
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as business needs require
  • Perform other duties as assigned
