Role OverviewThe Congregate Residential Settings Investigator position sits in the Bureau of Communicable Disease's Investigation and Response Unit, overseeing surveillance and investigations of more than 70 reportable conditions. The investigator will conduct site visits, provide infection prevention and control guidance, and develop relationships with partners in the NYC Health Department and other city and NY State agencies.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include notifying congregate settings of cases or outbreaks, conducting site visits, developing and maintaining relationships with partners, coordinating respiratory virus testing, and conducting data cleaning and quality assurance.

The ideal candidate will have experience with communicable disease investigation and response, including conducting structured interviews and medical chart reviews, and knowledge of infection prevention and control principles and practices.
Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above
- High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to '1' or '2' above
