Construction Laborer

The Construction Laborer position is responsible for performing various duties on construction and/or paving projects. The employee will generally work in utility capacity by transferring from one task to another where demands are required. The career field for “Construction Laborer” includes, but may not be limited to, the following positions: Laborer, General Laborer, and Paving Laborer.

What You Will Do

Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task. Assist construction/paving crew with various duties such as; shoveling and raking, running wheelbarrow, safely backing/dumping trucks into paver. Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and materials with shovel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Degree GED is preferred.
• No experience necessary although preferred - we will train.
• Must be 18 years in age or older.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Ability to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions from supervisors to complete assigned tasks.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently under a variety of working conditions.
• Ability to recognize hazardous conditions.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team in a fast-paced and complex environment, as well as being able to work independently with attention to detail.
