Role OverviewPerforms routine and basic work in general maintenance, repairs, fabrications, remodeling, and construction, commonly represented by the maintenance and construction trades in maintaining and upgrading existing facilities, grounds, and equipment. Works in a team environment that is committed to changing the lives of its community. The role involves interacting with other trade professionals, facility staff, and public, and requires acting and working independently with minimum supervision.
What You Will Do
Transports and operates light, medium, and/or heavy-duty equipment. Performs general maintenance on service vehicles, equipment, and assigned hand tools/power tools. Troubleshoots and performs basic repair and building maintenance involving electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, masonry, glazier, and painting tasks. Maintains facility grounds, which may include cutting grass, weeding, watering, aerating, fertilizing, seeding turf, installing and maintaining sprinkler systems, trimming shrubbery, and snow removal.

The successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements. Must receive a verified negative test result on a mandatory drug test before starting this position. May be subject to random alcohol and drug testing. May be subject to post-accident and reasonable suspicion alcohol and drug testing.
Requirements
- Two (2) years of experience in related building maintenance and/or construction trade.
- A valid Driver’s License accepted by the State of Utah is required at the time of hire.
- A valid Driver’s License issued by the State of Utah must be obtained within six (6) months of hire to operate a county vehicle.
