Role Overview

As the Construction Manager - Metro, you will provide leadership, planning, and strategic direction to drive profitability, safety, and operational excellence across the metro construction team. You will champion a culture of safety by modeling CHOIRS behaviors, enforcing government/company regulations, and developing site-specific safety protocols for high-density, urban job sites.

What You Will Do

You will oversee crew deployments, schedule work around urban constraints, manage multi-jurisdictional permitting (including city, county, and MnDOT agencies), and direct commercial bidding and subcontractor performance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of demonstrated, effective leadership and training experience
  • 2+ years of experience bidding commercial construction jobs
  • Valid Class A CDL driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Proven experience managing multi-jurisdictional permitting and municipal agency coordination (city, county, MnDOT) in a metro or urban utility environment
  • Strong project planning and management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and crews in various stages of completion
  • Demonstrated experience assessing, planning for, and mitigating risks unique to urban and high-traffic job sites to maintain crew safety
  • Working knowledge of metro/urban right-of-way (ROW) permitting processes, temporary traffic control plans (TTCP), and local municipal utility codes
  • In-depth knowledge of all aspects and regulations of telecom construction
  • Solid understanding of coaching, mentoring, team-building, and customer care principles
  • Intermediate computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office/G Suite (Excel, Word), with the ability to learn internal applications
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with all levels of the organization and external customers
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and prioritization abilities, with a calm, proactive approach under stress
