Role OverviewWorking under general technical guidance, a Construction Technician must have knowledge of skilled trades (i.e. electrical, structural, carpentry and / or plumbing assemblies) with preference given to those with a higher skill level in heavy equipment and mechanics. The technician will be performing work such as installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, modifying, construction and testing.
What You Will Do
Performs electrical/carpentry work in the construction trades, maintenance, repair, remodeling and alteration of building structures and facilities according to work orders or verbal instructions by using hand and power tools to install and repair systems, buildings and associated structures. Examine blueprints, drawings, layouts or other specifications to locate and diagnose / troubleshoot faults / issues.

Requirements
- An associate's degree or higher from an accredited college; or technical schooling in construction trades, with courses in math, basic electronics, and microwave theory; or a military equivalent and a minimum of seven (7) years of hands-on experience
- International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians (ISCET) certification
- Knowledge in building trades
- Working knowledge of a second trade either through on the job training or continuing education
- Possess a working knowledge of technical terminology and language structure related to a variety of mechanical equipment / systems supported by the work unit
- Basic computer operating skills and knowledge of applications, software and database usage sufficient to maintain records and files
- Good verbal & written communication skills
- Required to qualify for and maintain government security clearance
- Valid, current state-issued driver's license (CDL preferred)
