Role Overview

Join Morton Buildings' construction crew as a Construction Worker - Carpenter. Work under the guidance of a crew foreman to learn and apply safety and construction procedures, methods, and standards. Participate in a training program and work with other crew personnel in a safe and productive environment.

What You Will Do

Read and build according to construction plans, utilize tools and equipment, and execute tasks such as digging, framing, installing windows and doors, and finishing with metal and wood trims.

This position requires a willingness to participate in a training program, ability to take direction, and produce quality work in an efficient manner. Travel is required, including overnight travel up to two weeks at a time.

Requirements

  • Building construction (post-frame), carpentry or framing experience preferred
  • Willingness to participate in and complete a training program
  • Valid driver's license preferred
  • Ability to work 9-10 hours during peak construction season
  • Ability to take direction
  • Produce quality work in an efficient manner
  • Agree to comply with all safety processes and procedures
  • Ability to operate specialized safety equipment efficiently and effectively
  • Standard weight lifting requirements - 50 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 100 pounds
  • Capable of working in a physically demanding environment and at various heights (up to 40 feet)
