Construction Worker

Perform construction and home repair tasks, teach necessary skills to volunteers, and ensure safety practices are implemented.

What You Will Do

Complete daily home repair tasks, interact with homeowners, communicate with site leadership, and conduct safety training.

Requirements

• Must be able to successfully pass a drug test, 75 lb. physical lift test, background check, authorization, and a driving record check.
• Must have access to reliable transportation, a valid CA Driver's License, and meet the state-required amount of personal automobile liability insurance.
• Familiarity with, or interest in learning, basic construction and home repair techniques.
• Understanding of, or willingness to learn, proper safety practices and consistently apply them on the job site.
• Patience and communication skills to instruct volunteers at various skill levels in performing construction tasks.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to follow directions from site leadership.
• Ability to interact respectfully and clearly with team members, homeowners, volunteers, and site visitors.
• Willingness to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
• Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, standing for long periods, and working outdoors in various conditions.
• Passion for helping others and contributing to meaningful community recovery efforts, especially in disaster-affected areas.
