Role OverviewThe Consumer Protection Drug Control Agent (Pharmaceutical) will be responsible for duties that vary considerably depending on the needs of the Division and the territory and content area assigned. These duties may include training, supervising, and assigning work, reviewing investigative reports and inspection reports, and ensuring compliance with statutes and regulations.
What You Will Do
The role involves inspecting, monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating all aspects of drug, cosmetic, and device storage, security, recordkeeping, handling, and distribution. The agent will also investigate all phases of drug, cosmetic, and device distribution, detect and investigate illegal activities, and conduct surveillances, raids, embargoes, and seizures.

The ideal candidate will have considerable knowledge of composition and appearance of legal and illegal drugs and their use and abuse, as well as principles, practices, and methods of institutional and commercial pharmacy practice. The candidate should also have strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills, and the ability to conduct investigations of illegal drug activity and make independent judgments in the field.
Requirements
- Three (3) years of experience as a licensed pharmacist
- Experience applying state and federal laws applicable to pharmacy practice
- Experience performing audits pertaining to drugs in a pharmaceutical setting
- Experience performing investigations pertaining to drugs in a pharmaceutical setting
- Experience preparing written materials and giving oral presentations
- Experience prioritizing projects with competing deadlines
- Experience managing and interpreting pharmaceutical data for application in a work setting
