Role OverviewThe Content Specialist will work under the supervision of the Program Director to develop and implement engaging academic support, STEAM and literacy enrichment, life skills and/or leadership development, and physical fitness/healthy living activities for children ages 5-12 years old. The role requires adapting curricula to meet program goals and participants' needs, maintaining accurate records, and attending meetings as required.
What You Will Do
Main day-to-day responsibilities include selecting curricula, creating/reviewing lesson plans, adapting curricula as needed, and maintaining accurate records of staff attendance, participant attendance, and progress. The role also involves developing and maintaining participants' progress reports and attending required meetings.

The ideal candidate will have strong social and emotional maturity, behavioral management skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Fluency in Arabic, Chinese, or Spanish is preferred. The role requires a bachelor's degree in education, social work, counseling, or a related field, and teaching credentials or experience working with elementary or middle school youth is preferred.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education, social work, counseling, or a related field
- Teaching credentials and teaching experience or experience working with elementary or middle school youth in an afterschool classroom setting is preferred
- Current CPR/first aid/AED certification or willingness to complete this training/certification within 6 months of hire
- Strong social and emotional maturity and behavioral management skills
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Fluency in Arabic and Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese) or Spanish preferred
