Role OverviewThis position serves as the Continuity Program Manager, housed within the Bureau of Response's Planning Section. The incumbent will be responsible for managing the Continuity Program, providing guidance to stakeholders, ensuring compliance of executive agencies with Florida Statute 252.365, and updating the State of Florida Continuity of Government Plan. The duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, overseeing and coordinating continuity planning efforts with state agencies, county governments, municipal jurisdictions, and partner organizations to ensure effective Continuity of Operations (COOP) and Continuity of Government (COG) programs.
What You Will Do
The incumbent will review and evaluate COOP and COG plans, proposals, and related documentation to assess operational readiness and potential impacts as well as compliance with established standards and regulatory requirements. They will also design and deliver COOP and COG training programs for local governments, state agencies, and partner organizations, develop training standards, instructional materials, and best practice guidelines, and provide expert technical guidance to local, state, and private sector entities on continuity planning and developing and enhancing their continuity capabilities.
