Continuous Improvement Engineer

As a Continuous Improvement Engineer, you will work to support the entire Seneca Falls Operations site and other CI team members to identify defects or waste in the production process through Flow Analysis, Simulation, Value Stream Maps, and other tools. You will devise improved methods to sustainably improve process capabilities.

What You Will Do

Key objectives include applying Industrial Engineering and Lean concepts to improve product and information flow, reducing inventory, meeting customer delivery, increasing capacity, reducing complexity, and reducing costs. You will lead and/or participate in project teams to apply Industrial Engineering tools to yield process and flow improvements.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment performing related functions in machining/assembly environment in a high mix low volume facility
• Working knowledge of engineering fundamentals, lean concepts, and tools
• Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience improving material and product flow in operations
• Strong interpersonal/relationship-building skills
• Demonstrated strong knowledge of metal machining and assembly functions in a high mix low volume manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Familiarity with ISO processes
• Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles
• Capability to develop a project plan and to manage a project to completion
• Solid working knowledge of MS Office
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proficiency in English
