Role Overview

The Contract Administration Manager I performs advanced (senior-level) contract administration work. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. The ideal candidate shares our department’s mission to ensure that contract management is done ethically, transparently, impartially, and professionally.

What You Will Do

Supervise day-to-day activities of the VR CAS team, coordinate yearly performance reviews, review and assist with contract development and management, work with CAS Director to develop priorities and standards, and provide technical expertise and guidance.

Current certification as a Certified Texas Contract Manager, knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations, skill in using logic and reasoning, ability to establish goals and objectives, and ability to evaluate contracts and recommend future status.

Requirements

  • Current certification as a Certified Texas Contract Manager
  • Five years of full-time experience in contract administration, management, evaluation, or monitoring of contract providers
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations relevant to contract management functions and of the principles and practices of public administration and management
  • Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Ability to establish goals and objectives, devise solutions to administrative problems, develop and evaluate administrative policies and procedures, prepare reports, and communicate effectively
