Role OverviewThe Controller is the senior accounting leader for Good Shepherd Health Care System and its affiliated entities, responsible for the integrity of the organization’s financial reporting, internal control environment, and overall hospital and capital budget processes.
What You Will Do
Owns the month-end and year-end close, prepares and delivers monthly financial results, and leads independent audit, Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, regulatory reporting, tax compliance, internal controls, hospital budget, capital budget, cash and treasury, revenue cycle, financial analysis and strategy, policies and systems, leadership, and supply chain and property management.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in business administration with specialization in finance and/or Accounting, and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in good standing. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in business administration (MBA) and Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) through HFMA.

- Minimum of 5 years’ progressive accounting experience in a hospital or health system
- Experience with Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting, hospital reimbursement, hospital revenue cycle, hospital budgeting, Form 990 preparation or review, GAAP, leading external audits, and supervising accounting staff
