Job Description
CodeRabbit is an innovative research and development company focused on building human-machine collaboration systems. The Controller will play a critical leadership role in CodeRabbit’s growth, building and scaling the accounting and financial reporting infrastructure, strengthening internal controls, and supporting strategic decision-making.
Requirements
Own the monthly and annual close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP
Prepare and review financial statements, management reporting packages, and variance analyses
Maintain the general ledger, chart of accounts, and accounting policies
Partner with department leaders to review monthly results and key drivers
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management
Manage and develop the outsourced accounting team
Ensure accurate revenue recognition under ASC 606 (SaaS/subscription, usage-based billing, contract modifications)
Manage fixed assets, capitalization, depreciation, and amortization
Design, implement, and maintain internal controls appropriate for a rapidly growing international company
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements
Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third-party service providers
Manage both external and internal audits and prepare financial reports
Drive company’s first Big 4 audit to completion
Bring Accounting fully in house, and drive transition from Quickbooks to a more sophisticated ERP system (Rillet or Campfire)
Ensure the establishment, documentation, and adherence to policies and procedures (internal controls)
Build scalable processes to support rapid growth in headcount and transaction volume
Oversee banking and investment accounts
Ensure timely reconciliations and strong cash controls
Recruit, manage, and lead the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to foster high-performance and professional growth
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration
