Job Description
The Controls Engineer will develop, maintain, and audit the controls and automation systems used in Reading Truck Group’s operations. The engineer will advance the controls and automation systems used in operations by developing project scopes, designs, specifications, evaluation of alternatives, cost estimates, and implementing the designs that result in safer, more productive, more cost effective, improved quality processes and operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience overall in controls and automation specification, design, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting
  • Programming PLC logic, HMI, and SCADA systems experience
  • Robotics programming experience (Fanuc is preferred)
  • Lean Manufacturing experience (preferred)
  • Ability to systematically troubleshoot problems, identify issues and propose solutions to resolve them
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills
  • Effective Project Management skills, oral and written communication; excellent interpersonal skills
