Role Overview

The controls engineer will lead complex control system projects, assist maintenance with equipment issues, and coach, mentor, train, and supervise technicians. This position will specify, design, and implement complex control systems and software programming on production equipment and associated machinery.

What You Will Do

Primary responsibilities include observing OSHA and company safety rules, identifying potentially dangerous electrical hazards, leading/supporting internal control technicians, project and process engineers, maintenance & production personnel, OEMs, vendors, and contractors, and supervising, assigning work, providing performance monitoring and reviews, and providing daily priority setting for Controls Technicians.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, minimum of 1-year industrial controls experience, advanced knowledge of electrical theory and principles of operation, and excellent analytical skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Minimum of 1-year industrial controls experience
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical theory and principles of operation
  • Personal computer skills, including specific controls programming software and basic e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet applications, and project management software
  • Ability to create and modify schematic drawings using AutoCAD software
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Leadership abilities
  • Ability to work closely with machine manufacturers and vendors
  • Ability to communicate with process engineers, product design group, and maintenance staff
