Job Description
Role Overview

The Cook - Windy Hill will prepare nutritious and delicious food for Wellstar Patient Meal Service, Retail Service, and other satellite areas. The role requires a passion for the culinary arts and adherence to all sanitation and food handling codes established by Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and local county Dept. of Health. The Cook will work in a healthcare setting, preparing food for a high-risk population with developing, weakening, or compromised immune systems.

What You Will Do

The Cook will ensure the safety of customers and team members, monitor and record food and equipment temperatures, store food and supplies using proper labeling, dating, and rotation methods, and operate equipment according to safety guidelines. The Cook will also prepare menu items using culinary techniques, such as peeling and cutting fresh products, utilizing proper cooking methods, and accurately reading and following recipes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • ServSafe (SRVSF-FH) Food Handler certification
  • At least two years of professional cooking experience
  • Ability to communicate and understand verbal and written English language and Math
  • Ability to complete mandatory computer-based learning and pass exam
  • Ability to understand and follow safety regulations in a foodservice healthcare environment
