Role OverviewThe Ohio Veterans Homes, part of Ohio Department of Veterans Services, are trauma-informed care long-term care focused on providing excellent care to Ohio’s Veterans. The Veteran Homes provide direct nursing home care at facilities in Sandusky and Georgetown as well as domiciliary living to qualified veterans in Sandusky.
What You Will Do
Prepare and cook foods according to standardized recipes, use standard and/or commercial kitchen equipment, and maintain cleanliness and proper sanitation at all times in kitchen, ingredient/storeroom as well as during preparation of meals.

Requirements
- Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication & division;
- 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in food preparation, sanitation & storage & use of food service equipment in institutional, school or restaurant setting.
- Or equivalent of the Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
