Role OverviewAs a Cook/Food Service Worker, you'll prepare and serve food while following federal, state, and local regulations, as well as established policies and procedures. You'll work under the guidance of the Assistant Food Service Supervisor and/or Director of Food Services to ensure residents receive quality meals and a positive dining experience.
What You Will Do
Inspect special diets, process diet changes, prepare food, serve meals, and maintain a clean work environment. You'll also supervise dietary serving staff, rotate stock, and update food service directors on inventory.

Requirements
- Inspect special diets and plates to assure they are correct.
- Assure that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
- Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, HACCP TEMPS, cleaning lists etc. and submit to the Director of Food Services.
- Assist in establishing food service production line, etc. to assure that meals are prepared on time.
- Process diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services.
- Assume responsibility for opening and closing department following appropriate policies and procedures.
- Bring out buffet at required times/lines.
- Serve on the Buffet line as needed.
- Keep perpetual inventory freezer sheet up to date.
- Supervise dietary serving staff in dining rooms and kitchen.
- Rotate stock and update food service directors on large amounts of food getting close to being outdated, so menu/order can be adjusted/product changes, or food supply company informed.
- Cleans/rinses/sanitizes work space/equipment throughout meal prep while following menus.
- Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations as well as our established policies and procedures.
- Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
- Assure that safety regulations are followed at all times by all personnel.
