Role OverviewThe Cook prepares attractive USDA CNP approved meals for 20-40 children and staff while keeping the kitchen and classroom areas clean and sanitary. The Cook maintains adequate food stocks, kitchen supplies, and nutrition records, and provides accurate accounting of monthly expenditures.
What You Will Do
Prepare creditable meals, maintain nutrition records, purchase food and supplies, store food and supplies properly, ensure food allergies and substitutions are documented, and assist in planning and preparation of classroom Nutrition Activities.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have experience in purchasing and preparing culturally diverse foods for groups, knowledge of early childhood nutrition, and skills in working with children. The candidate will also be able to understand and use basic math, and have knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Current Food Handler's card
- Experience in purchasing and preparing culturally diverse foods for groups
- Ability to understand and use basic math
