Role OverviewThe Cooker Operator is responsible for operating PLC to control machinery, monitoring pumps and grinders to ensure quality assurance, and performing various tasks such as cleaning and documentation. This role requires working in a team environment and being able to work nights and weekends as needed. The Cooker Operator will be part of a larger team at Darling Ingredients, a company that repurposes and recycles materials from the animal agriculture and food industries.
What You Will Do
The main day-to-day responsibilities of the Cooker Operator include operating the cooking process within selected parameters, documenting plant operations, and notifying the shift manager of any issues or maintenance problems. The Cooker Operator will also be responsible for cleaning up, including shoveling the floor, hosing floors and machinery down, and using wheelbarrows and PIT's.

To be a fit for this role, you should have manufacturing, industrial, or agricultural experience, and prior experience in a rendering facility or production environment is preferred. You should also be able to work well with others in a team environment and be dependable and reliable. The ability to work nights and weekends as needed is also required.
