Corporate Counsel – Governance and Compliance

The Corporate Counsel will be part of the governance and compliance team, supporting public company and subsidiary governance matters, and general compliance matters, including ethics reporting and monitoring. The position is located at the Company’s headquarters in downtown Chicago, Illinois. What You Will Do

The Corporate Counsel will lead and manage cross-functional legal and compliance projects and training, assist with compliance monitoring and reporting, legal regulations, and risk assessments, and monitor ethics reporting and provide guidance to various stakeholders on compliance matters.

Requirements

• 5-7 years experience in a transactional practice in a law firm or an in-house legal department
• Juris Doctorate degree and licensed to practice in a jurisdiction within the U.S.
• Leadership acumen and a track record of demonstrating these skills
• Demonstrated track record of accountability for outcomes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and concisely
• Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of cross-functional teams
• Willingness to take on matters outside your core expertise, learn new areas of law, and pitch in where needed to support the business
• Strong business and legal judgment with ability to make sound decisions
• High level of integrity and professional ethics
