Job Description
The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction seeks a Correction Lieutenant to supervise correction officers and ensure the safety and security of the facility and incarcerated population. The role involves instructing and evaluating CO's, enforcing post orders, and preventing escapes and incidents. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of training or experience in enforcing security measures for detention of felons or consumers who are criminally insane in a controlled environment.

Requirements

  • Supervises correction officers and correction sergeants/counselors
  • Instructs and evaluates correction officers
  • Ensures the safety and security of the facility and incarcerated population
  • Prevents escapes and incidents
  • Responds to emergencies and security alerts
  • Gathers information and writes reports
  • Completes employee and incarcerated worker performance evaluations
