Job Description
The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is seeking a Correction Sergeant/Counselor to work at the Correction Reception Center. The successful candidate will provide guidance and support to correction officers and incarcerated individuals, and perform various security and counseling functions. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, and three years of experience in enforcing security measures for detention of felons or equivalent experience as a Correction Officer.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Three years of experience in enforcing security measures for detention of felons
  • Commercial driver's license (if assigned to operate vehicles)
  • Unarmed self-defense training, firearms training, and mental health training
  • Correction Officer experience (if applicable)
  • Ability to work in a correctional environment
