Job Description
The State of Connecticut, Department of Correction (DOC), is recruiting for the position of Correctional Lieutenant at York Correctional Institution in Niantic, CT. The position is full-time, 40-hours per week, and works on a 5x3 schedule. The Correctional Lieutenant will assist supervising a large complement of officers and assume responsibility for custody and security of inmates, buildings, and grounds in the absence of a Captain.

Requirements

  • Assist supervising a large complement of officers
  • Assume responsibility for custody and security of inmates, buildings, and grounds in the absence of a Captain
  • Assign staff to posts and making frequent inspections to evaluate the performance of officers
  • Provide effective oversight of posts and enforce rules and regulations
  • Respond to crisis situations in a supervisory capacity
  • Review and act upon reports submitted by officers and/or other staff
