Job Description
The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is seeking a Correctional Program Specialist to work under general supervision and require working knowledge of correctional social programs and program techniques. The position involves completing risk assessments, case planning, and conducting unit programming for incarcerated persons, as well as maintaining records and communicating with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 76 hours of unit management coverage per week per unit, including late nights and weekends
  • Completion of 6 months experience in report writing, record keeping, interviewing, counseling or contact with social service agencies
  • Completion of associate core program in social or behavioral science or criminal justice or human services
  • Completion of undergraduate core program in social or behavioral science or criminal justice or human services
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment
