Role Overview

This position works under general supervision and requires working knowledge of correctional social programs and program techniques. The role involves completing risk assessments, case planning, and conducting unit programming for incarcerated persons. The position requires a minimum of 76 hours of unit management coverage per week, including late nights and weekends.

What You Will Do

The Correctional Program Specialist will complete risk assessments and case planning, plan and conduct unit programming, assess programming efforts, interview inmates, make referrals, coordinate activities, maintain records, communicate with stakeholders, and provide direct contact services.

Requirements

  • 18 mos. exp in social or behavioral science or criminal justice or human services
  • 6 mos. exp in one or more of the following: report writing, record keeping, interviewing, counseling or contact with social service agencies
