Correctional Program Specialist

This position works under general supervision and requires working knowledge of correctional social programs and program techniques. The role involves completing risk assessments, planning and conducting unit programming, and assessing programming efforts. The position requires working in a correctional environment and communicating with stakeholders regarding incarcerated people's status and program progress.

What You Will Do

The main responsibilities of this position include completing risk assessments and case planning, planning and conducting unit programming, assessing programming efforts, and communicating with stakeholders. The position also involves making referrals for programs and services, coordinating activities with volunteers, and maintaining records of incarcerated people's program participation.

Requirements

• 18 mos. exp in social or behavioral science or criminal justice or human services
• 6 mos. exp in one or more of the following: report writing, record keeping, interviewing, counseling or contact with social service agencies
• Or completion of associate core program in social or behavioral science or criminal justice or human services
• Or completion of undergraduate core program in social or behavioral science or criminal justice or human services
