Role OverviewThis position is located at Rutherford Correctional Center in Rutherford County, NC. Rutherford Correctional Center is a 236-bed minimum custody prison with approximately 54 staff. Work in this class involves first-line supervision to Correctional Officer’s in a minimum -custody facility, increasing the custody and security coverage.
What You Will Do
Key duties include supervision & leadership, security & safety operations, offender supervision, incident response, shift operations management, policy & procedure compliance, communication & reporting, training & staff development, emergency preparedness, and professional conduct.

Requirements
- Meet Criminal Justice Standards requirements (12 NCAC 09G .0302)
- Pass a criminal background check
- Produce a negative drug screening result
- Successfully complete medical and psychological evaluations
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission
