Job Description
Role Overview

Performs routine work carrying out the intake and assessment procedures for clients brought to the Juvenile Intake and Assessment Center (JIAC) within the Department of Corrections (DOC) and monitors clients while in the facility.

What You Will Do

Interviews clients, completes intake portion of database, performs fingerprinting, mug shots, and DNA, enters demographic information into the database, creates and/or modifies records, provides short-term crisis counseling, conducts family conferences, and provides inter-agency collaboration.

Must be at least 21 years of age, pass legal background check, Child and Adult Abuse & Neglect Central Registry checks, KCJIS Security Policy (fingerprint) check, and pre-employment screens.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) equivalent
  • Two (2) years of college coursework in human services or other related field, or two (2) years’ experience working with youth and families
  • Valid US driver’s license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance
  • Pass legal background check, Child and Adult Abuse & Neglect Central Registry checks, KCJIS Security Policy (fingerprint) check, and pre-employment screens
