Job Description
The School Guidance Counselor is responsible for providing guidance and counseling services to pupils, staff members, and patrons, as directed by the Building Principal. The Counselor is also responsible to the Coordinator of Guidance and Counseling Services.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in School Counseling
  • KSDE issued School Counselor License
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Proficient organizational, planning and human relations skills
  • Good knowledge of guidance counseling, career education methods, materials, procedures, and practices
  • Ability to apply knowledge of guidance and counseling practices to the needs of assigned students
  • Ability to develop cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and instructional staff
