Role OverviewThe Counselor (Guest Support Specialist) is the first line of contact for all guests entering shelter, ensuring the overall well-being and operation of shelter. They serve as the bridge between shelter operations and shelter services, providing non-judgmental, trauma-informed services and resources to individuals.
What You Will Do
The Counselor (Guest Support Specialist) will welcome guests, provide a safe and supportive environment, facilitate shelter safety procedures, and develop positive professional relationships with guests. They will also respond to emergencies, conduct assessments, and facilitate linkage to support services.

Requirements
- Associate of Science Degree OR High School Diploma / GED
- 1 year of related experience
- Valid MA driver's license and good driving record
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with staff and guests
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Ability to Promote health equity, inclusion, and diversity within the BPHC, department, and community
