Role Overview

The Treatment Counselor position provides direct clinical services in a one on one and/or group setting with individuals with substance use disorders. These services will include assessing an individual’s clinical needs, goal planning and objectives within the guidelines established by the agency and primary care provider.

What You Will Do

Provides education and support through group counseling and individual sessions, completes comprehensive behavioral health assessments, collaborates with individuals to develop and/or review individualized treatment plans, and assesses and monitors individuals’ progress towards established goals and objectives.

Ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, business, or related field, CADC certification, and demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and group facilitation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, business, or related field
  • CADC certification
  • Specific knowledge necessary for working with individuals and families engaged in high-risk behaviors
  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Demonstrated experience in group facilitation
