Court Support Specialist

Job Description
Under the general direction of the court administrator and deputy court administrator, performs a variety of highly responsible, confidential and complex administrative duties for the court administrator, deputy court administrator, judges; provides support for all divisions of the court in both simple and complex court matters.

Requirements

  • Have no felony offense convictions
  • Pass a criminal background check and drug test
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Pass testing requirements to be a certified LEIN (Law Enforcement Information Network) operator within six (6) months of employment and recertify as applicable
  • Have a minimum of two (2) years office or clerical experience in an office or court environment
  • Possess considerable knowledge of court rules, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Be able to work independently and to set priorities to meet deadlines
  • Be able to work well in a team environment
  • Possess attention to detail and accuracy in work performance
  • Possess good organizational, filing, verbal and writing skills
  • Must attain State of Michigan certification as a Certified Electronic Operator (CEO) within first (1) year of employment and recertify as applicable
  • Have advanced knowledge of personal computer and office software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, and Polycom)
  • Be able to interact firmly, calmly and impartially with attorneys, litigants, witnesses and the general public
  • Possess the ability to use sound judgment within established procedural guidelines
