Job Description
Crane Operator - Scrap position at CMC, a Fortune 500 company, involves operating a cab-operated overhead crane to supply scrap to a consteel furnace. The role requires a team player with strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills.

Requirements

  • Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and uphold the CMC Safety Culture
  • Exercise care to select and load scrap in accordance with heat requirements and established charge conveyor loading procedures
  • Basic understanding of crane hand signals and communications
  • Effective communication with others about possible production issues, concerns, and needs
  • Ensure equipment inspection reports are filled out each shift
  • Responsible for continuous improvement and daily housekeeping duties
  • Troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge and communication with others
  • Understand start up, shutdown, and emergency procedures
  • Be always alert of unsafe conditions and report them immediately
  • Perform other duties as assigned
