Job Description
K12, a Stride Company, is seeking a CRE Family and Consumer Science Teacher for its Digital Academy of Texas (DATX) partner school. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering specific course content in an online environment and will work with students and parents to advance their learning and develop a plan for post-secondary success.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree
Three (3) years of successful teacher experience within the virtual setting
Ability to clear required background check(s)
Shared view of the virtual academy's mission
Strong content and subject-matter knowledge
An ability to support and guide adults as well as students
Knowledgeable in the application of data bases utilized by K12
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Organization and time-management skills
Microsoft Office 365; Web proficiency
Ability to travel up to 20% of the time for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school
Experience as an online learner
Experience with project based learning
Experience using a student information system and/or other type of database
An ability to support adults with basic computer set-up and navigation
