Role Overview

The incumbent of this position is a member of DFS' Disaster Response Team and may be required to perform duties and necessary attendant travel in support of disaster relief efforts. Performs criminal history and intelligence checks with reference to investigations for all sworn personnel as directed.

What You Will Do

Compiles, analyzes, and disseminates information and criminal intelligence from various agencies, the public, and other sources, and utilizes these sources to maintain the exchange of pertinent information among law enforcement agencies.

The incumbent must be able to communicate clearly and effectively orally, in writing, by radio and telephone, and must be able to exercise judgment to ensure that accurate and reliable information is disseminated.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of professional work experience in one or more of the following areas: criminal justice, military intelligence, law enforcement, conducting research/interviews, data analysis, investigations, and administrative assistant/executive assistant.
  • A post-secondary degree from an accredited university/college may be used as an alternative for the years of professional work experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Valid Driver’s License from the Department of Safety and Motor Vehicles.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Active Florida Crime Information Center or National Crime Center certificate.
