Role OverviewThe Custodial Technician is responsible for the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the shelter facility, its equipment, and its campus. The Custodial Technician will serve as the point of contact for all maintenance contractors working at the shelter and all vendors providing linen and supplemental services such as pest control. The Custodial Technician will keep a running maintenance request log and work closely with Fairfax Counties Facilities Maintenance Division who regularly services the facility.
What You Will Do
Perform daily cleaning to the entire shelter facility, including removal of trash, vacuuming/sweeping floors, mopping as necessary, wiping all surfaces including windows, window sills, and furniture, as well as disinfect all bathrooms. Restock all supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, garbage can liners, air freshener, hand soaps, etc. Perform grounds maintenance at Katherine Hanley and Kate’s Place, such as picking up trash, cleaning trash receptacles, removing debris, etc.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends when needed, as schedule may vary
- 1+ year of custodial experience (preferred)
