Role OverviewThe primary job of the Night lead Custodian is to assist the custodial staff of a building in providing a clean, safe and sanitary environment for the students and staff. Perform a variety of custodial tasks for the building or campus.
What You Will Do
Perform daily duties in assigned areas, including dusting, emptying wastebaskets, sweeping floors, and cleaning equipment. Perform weekly duties such as buffing, high dusting, and cleaning whiteboards.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions, and have the ability to climb stairs and/or ladders, exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally.
Requirements
- Ability to follow oral or written work orders from supervisor
- Ability to coordinate work with principal and others
- Ability to describe orally or in writing cleaning, maintenance or repair problems
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure
- Knowledge of asbestos information
- Knowledge of mechanical operations
- Knowledge of custodial duties and functions as required by the APPA Level 2 or higher standards
- Intermediate computer competency and the ability to effectively use Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Ability to read, comprehend and be able to effectively and clearly communicate MSDS information
- Exhibit a professional manner and a positive attitude
- Ability to plan, organize, make decisions and prioritize work to meet the daily demands of the building
- Must be detailed oriented
- Ability to perform as an effective team leader, managing employees, budgets and projects
- Displays a significant degree of professionalism and confidentiality
- Ability to conform to proper standards of professional dress and appearance
- Knowledge of company's mission, purpose, goals and the role of every employee in achieving each of them
