Job Description
Role Overview

The Customer Service Representative will provide high-volume customer service to licensing applicants in person and via phone, assist applicants with outreach to other city agencies, and perform ordinary mathematical computations while accepting and processing payments. The role is part of the Licensing Division, which ensures fair competition and a level playing field for responsible small businesses in New York City. The Division supports DCWP's broader mission of protecting New Yorkers by ensuring that every business that needs to be licensed operating in the five boroughs has met the standards required to serve the public with integrity.

What You Will Do

The Customer Service Representative will check records for accuracy of information and for conformity with established policy and procedures, provide customer service, assist applicants with outreach to other city agencies, and perform ordinary mathematical computations while accepting and processing payments.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent, one year of satisfactory clerical experience, and keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
