Role Overview

Under general supervision, performs work greeting and registering patients, coordinates patient appointments, and provides excellent customer service. Works independently and in a team environment, and must be able to multi-task.

What You Will Do

Assists patients with check-in and check-out process, prepares medical records, directs telephone calls, initiates scheduling process for diagnostic tests, verifies financial information and insurance coverages, and verifies scheduled appointments.

Requirements

  • Certification as a Physician Office Business Administrator
  • High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
  • Customer service, reception, filling or billing experience in a physician's office or hospital
  • Ability to apply medical terminology
  • Good computer skills
  • Demonstrated good analytical skills
  • Positive attitude, professional courtesy, and compassionate customer service
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to diffuse a stressful situation tactfully and professionally
