Customer Support Engineer

The Customer Support Engineer will provide service support to customers, encompassing system commissioning, system breakdown repairs, and preventative maintenance support. They will work autonomously and as part of a team to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with RF, pneumatic, vacuum, electronic, and computer systems. The engineer will also generate a close working relationship with customers to enable the company to sell its product portfolio.

Provide service support to customers, generate a close working relationship with customers, provision of feedback for product and business process improvements, timely completion of field reports.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in electronics, RF theory, mechanical engineering, vacuum technology, and basic knowledge of plasma processing equipment. They will be able to troubleshoot and diagnose issues to the component level, have excellent communication and customer interfacing skills, and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

• Solid background in electronics, RF theory, mechanical engineering, vacuum technology, and basic knowledge of plasma processing equipment
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and diagnose RF, pneumatic, vacuum, electronic (AC and DC), PLC, DeviceNet, and Computer issues to the component level
• Working knowledge of MS DOS, Windows software, and MS Office products
• Excellent communication and customer interfacing skills
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to work alone or unsupervised for extended periods
• Ability to travel > 50% of the time to support the customer base
