Job Description
The Cylinder Maintenance position involves loading and unloading compressed gas cylinders, performing basic maintenance, and handling hazardous materials. Responsibilities include sorting empty cylinders, checking inventory, and completing paperwork. The role requires good physical condition, high school degree or GED, and 1+ years of manufacturing or plant experience.

Requirements

  • Load and unload compressed gas cylinders and/or other products onto and off of route trucks and trailers.
  • Roll cylinders and operate a forklift truck for the movement of compressed gas cylinders.
  • Sort empty compressed gas cylinders by type.
  • Check for compressed gas cylinder quantities, styles, and product, and/or assist with inventory.
  • Review customer orders, pull items from full inventory, and load items onto trucks for delivery.
  • Perform basic compressed gas cylinder maintenance such as painting cylinders, labeling cylinders, and cleaning of work area.
  • Handle cryogenic liquid cylinders.
  • Handle hazardous materials (HAZMAT).
  • Assist with accompanying paperwork for shipments.
  • Complete both routine and non-routine daily and weekly assignments.
  • Complete all documentation and forms in compliance with nexAir's safety and quality requirements during the fill process.
  • Accurately and legibly ensure products are labeled properly, with current labels and lot numbers.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workplace through proper housekeeping procedures.
  • Set tone for employees by good example through observation of the company's policies and procedures.
  • Report accidents including near misses, unsafe acts or conditions and obey safety rules.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Flame Retardant (FR) clothing required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
